Looking back at a volunteer job that we did a few years ago. The CRAB organization was in need of handicap access to their office space which is located at Sandy Point State Park. CRAB aims to allow people with disabilities equitable access to meaningful therapeutic recreation, such as sailing. One of the most fascinating things we learned while working with the CRAB organization was about one of their sailboats, the Martin 16. The Martin 16 has a sip/ puff steering capability allowing people with physical disabilities the ability to independently be in control of the sailboat. When the time came to build the ramp, we gathered volunteers and had a great time while donating our time to a great cause. The day was complete with a DJ, games, and amazing food. After doing a complete renovation to their family home on Kent Island. Our clients decided to update the front facade of their home. We had a stone walkway put in, built a portico over the front door which not only adds charm but can protect you from the rain when trying to enter, and updated the landscaping.
Anthony and Laura Really wanted a better view of the Chesapeake. The previous layout had a huge fireplace and limited windows which were obstructing their view. We took down the old fireplace by breaking it down from the top and dropping the bricks down the chimney to make for an easy clean up. We updated the kitchen and living room as well. The new fireplace has a beautiful, stacked stone surrounding. They are excited to now have a view of the Chesapeake from every room in the house.
